Creating Jobs and Investing in Grove
We have exciting new plans to launch our latest store in Grove, adjacent to Grove Road.
A planning application was submitted in September 2018 and we have listened carefully to all the comments received to date. As a result, we’ve made significant changes to the design, which addresses concerns but maintains the benefits to the local community:
- 40 new long-term jobs for local people
- A multi-million-pound investment in Grove and Wantage
- Significant savings on a weekly shop
- Access to high-quality, affordable British products
Our proposals represent a significant long-term investment in the area and we are proud to already be working with local job centres to ensure the 40 jobs we create, and the investment we will be making, benefits those living in Grove and Wantage.
Working closely with the Vale of White Horse District Council and Oxfordshire County Council we have changed the site access to come directly from Grove Road, rather than Elms Business Park access road to the north. This responds to concerns about its safety and location, and Oxfordshire County Council has now confirmed it has no objections to the proposals.
We have also made significant changes to the design of the store, including its appearance and proposed materials, to be more sympathetic to the area.
The updated plans have now been submitted to Vale of White Horse District Council and you can read more and view the updated plans by following this link to the application on the council’s website.
